Led by a Non-Executive Chair, the CPFT Board of Directors is made up of eight non-executive directors, and seven executive directors. The Board is a unitary board responsible for ensuring that CPFT is accountable to the public for the services it manages.

Dr Cathy Walsh, Chief Medical Officer
Cathy is a Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist based at CPFT and Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH) and an Associate Lecturer with the University of Cambridge School for Clinical Medicine. She is also the Clinical Mental Health Lead for Cambridge Children’s - a triumvirate partnership between CPFT, CUH and the University of Cambridge to create an innovative new hospital for children and young people. As a liaison psychiatrist, Cathy is passionate about the integration of physical and mental health. She has an interest in depression, particularly in the context of medical co-morbidities, and in improving outcomes for patients with persistent depression. She has been involved in the development of the i-VALiD study, which aims to better define values-based practise for persistent depression. Cathy is also interested in staff mental health and led on the establishment of the CPFT Staff Mental Health Service which provides mental health care for NHS staff across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. As Chief Medical Officer, Cathy has a leadership role in Clinical Innovation with a particular focus on the use of new and existing technologies to address clinical and operational needs.
