Information for young people

We know it can be very frightening to think that you might have to go into hospital and stay away from home. The staff at the Phoenix Centre are dedicated to making sure you receive the best care possible during your stay. You will be supported by fully qualified and experienced staff, who are listed here.

All the staff are friendly and caring and they aim to support you and work hard to ensure that the 'staying in hospital' part of your recovery is as short and as effective as possible. You will also meet other young people during your time at the Phoenix who are sharing similar experiences to you, which can be helpful and reassuring.

Please take a look at the information provided in this section. If you have any further questions about an admission to the Phoenix Centre, please do not hesitate to call us on 01223534409.

For parents/carers

We do not underestimate the importance of family relationships and we believe that you have a key part to play in your child’s recovery. We believe that the relationships that young people have with their families are central to their well-being and we want to do our best to support them. We also understand that family relationships can be challenging, especially when a young person is admitted to hospital.

Throughout a young person's stay, we work together with you and them in order to agree shared plans for treatment. We recognise the importance of patient and parent/carer involvement and its ability to ensure continual service development. There will be many opportunities to visit the centre and be involved in the treatment of your child.
