Led by a Non-Executive Chair, the CPFT Board of Directors is made up of eight non-executive directors, and seven executive directors. The Board is a unitary board responsible for ensuring that CPFT is accountable to the public for the services it manages.

Jane Cannon MBE, Non-Executive Director

Jane Cannon MBE, Non-Executive Director

Jane had a long and successful industrial career including senior management roles in BT, QinetiQ, and Lockheed Martin before becoming a Partner at Ernst & Young and then a senior civil servant in the Office for Security and Counter Terrorism in the Home Office.
She has an MBA in Technology Management and is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and a Fellow of University College London.
As a professional engineer she undertook several Board roles including at the IET, the Engineering and Technology Board and the Engineering Council, where she was Deputy Chair.
She was awarded an MBE in 2003 for services to business and engineering.
Jane gave up her industry career to care for her teenage twin daughters when the girls’ mental health deteriorated.  She lost both her daughters to suicide and has since focused on a portfolio of activities and roles in mental health, particularly in the field of personality disorder: 
Jane is currently working with the Royal College of Psychiatrists on personality disorder policy.  She is also working with the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust promoting parent/carer peer support and is a member of the Executive Committee of BIGSPD (British and Irish Group for the Study of Personality Disorders).
Previously Jane sat on the NHS England Quality Improvement Taskforce for young people’s inpatient services and was a member of the Expert Advisory Group producing Health Education England’s Workforce Strategy for inpatient Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.    
Jane was a Governor at CPFT from 2022 until her appointment to the Board.
