More volunteers needed for survey investigating the impact of Covid-19

CPFT invites local people to take part in an online survey to share how the coronavirus pandemic is affecting their mental health and wellbeing - before it closes on Thursday 30 September 2021.

CPFT researchers are collaborating with Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust on this global study which launched last year, to investigate the psychological impact of coronavirus and how different people are coping during the pandemic and recent lockdowns.

Anyone over 16 can take part in the survey by the end of this month, you do not have to answer all the questions and can leave the study at any time. Please say that you heard about the survey from Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) to help the researchers.

The survey can be accessed directly here: bit.ly/3hlHr8c or on the CPFT research website: www.cpft.nhs.uk/be-part-of-research

Siobhan Coleman head and shoulders CPFT research nurse and Windsor Research Unit Deputy Manager Siobhán Coleman said: “Thank you to everyone who has shared their experiences in the survey so far. If you took part last year, we really want to hear from you again to understand what may have changed and how you are feeling now. We also hope that more people will complete the survey for the first time while it is still running.

“Your responses will help us learn what enables different people to cope, and what is causing wellbeing problems, affecting emotions and behaviour. This information can help healthcare services to adapt and improve their responses to future crises and develop more personalised approaches to psychological and wellbeing support.”

With over 350 sites running the survey in the UK, including CPFT, the research will provide researchers and the NHS with a much wider view of the impact of the pandemic and changing restrictions. This international study also aims to compare how the virus has impacted on people’s mental health across different countries, including Canada, India, Greece, Singapore and Holland.

For more information and any questions about the survey, contact the Windsor Research Unit team on 01223 219531 or email wru@cpft.nhs.uk.
