Current Volunteering Opportunities

We currently have a variety of opportunities for people who have a caring nature and a couple of hours a week to spare:

Art Therapy - Volunteers have an opportunity to observe and assist the Arts Therapist with any of the following areas: -

•          Group Arts Therapies sessions
•          Arts projects
•          Administrative and general tasks

Dementia Carer Support Services (DCSS) - The DCSS is a service that provides support to carers of people with dementia at specific times during the journey of their caring role. Volunteers have an opportunity to provide consistent support to carers of people with dementia and develop supportive and professional befriending relationships to help carers at the most challenging of times.

Virtual support volunteers - Volunteers have an opportunity to provide virtual, practical, emotional support to patients discharged from hospital. With the support of the voluntary services, volunteers can actively engage with and coach service users to develop skills that allow them to use technology to support their care.

Heart and Soul – Volunteers have an opportunity to provide Spiritual and Pastoral support via a telephone listening service supporting people whose treatment and care has been paused. The Heart and Soul listening service volunteers will be a safe haven for the people within this group to be referred to and to received telephone support.

Recovery College East - Volunteers will be able to use their creative skills, interests and connections when supporting the Recovery College team in creating their Speak you Mind magazine.

If you are interested in any of these opportunities or would like a role description, please contact Volunteers.cpft@cpft.nhs.uk
